Edelbrock IAS Shocks and SuperCrews?
Hey Screwit!
How do youlike your CR Laurence power slider? I am looking at getting one for my Screw when I get it next month. If you don't mind me asking, where did you getit(dealer or specialty shop) and what did you pay? I went to the CR Laurence website and see there are two types for the Screw - the regualr and an all glass, tinted version. Which did you get?
Do you like it?
Sorry for the questions but I am really torn on whether to buy one or not.
thanks for your help

Had them and took them off! The Edelbrocks have a mushy ride to them. I'll try to explain it the best I can.. it's as if at normal speeds on a windy back road they had a vague spot in them. The truck had a slight wallow and pitch unless I started to push harder into the corners, then the shocks would seem to respond a little better. The Edelbrocks also were somewhat noisy over bumps. I've switched out to Bilstein and would suggest them greatly. I also ran Rancho RSX and RS900 but found the Bilsteins the best of the four I tested on my 4X4 Supercrew. In defense for Edelbrocks, I put them on my Dads' Expy and have no complaints (maybe because its a softer sprung vehicle, but they still make to much mechanical noise for me personaly).
I don’t have my Screw Yet, but I do have the Edelbrock shocks on my Suburban. They will not sell me a second set. They have been on about a year. I think I remember them advertising them as being progressive. Little did I know that meant they get progressively worse the longer you have them.
I liked them the first 3 or 4 months. Now they have lost most of the control. If I was not selling the Sub in the next month or so, I would invest in some Bilsteins. I have ran Both Bilstiein and KYB with good results on other vehicles. The Bilsteins seemed to be better at 75K than others have been at 10K.

I have the tinted one, I had one on my 97 SC also. They works great. And not hard to install. The top lip of the back panel I cut 3/8" off you don't have to but looks cleaner. I installed it myself, and my dad is the VP of CR Laurence but the fact that he is did not sell me it's just a good window. The stock ford slider frame cracks and leaks all 3 F150's that I've had did it the CRL frame is aluminum and powered is a nice +.
hope this helps

Who has them? Who likes them? What are the pros and cons?
I'm thinking of getting the IAS's but would like to get the boards input first.
Thanks

Nice to have friends in high places! I would never dream of installing it myself. Do you or your father have any idea who a reputable installer would be in the Indianapolis, IN area? I would love to see one work. I also am interested why you picked the tinted one - cleaner lines or do you like the dark glass? Oh yeah - what is a good price for these windows installed?
Thanks for the info.
