Red face Harmonic Drone after BellTech Shackles?

2001 2WD Lariat SCrew. I installed a set of Bell Tech 2" lowering shackles to make the bed sit even with the front of the truck.
Now I detect a Drone noise at 60 MPH and above. It sounds as if I have an aftermarket exhaust system on the truck. Has anyone else detected this problem??
Any Ideas, or Solutions?
Did I change the angle of the drive shaft, I don't think so, but!!!

I just spoke to someone at A.I.M. (1800-289-9980) and he said it was not necessary to shim for only a 2" drop in the rear.Im about to do mine so after I read your post I called to find out.BUT,,,it would seem to me a small shim would be in order since raising only one side of the leaf spring would cause a slight twist in the axle.Let me know if you find out more.

XTRUKY,
I have the same no my Screw before the 2" shackels were but on and after, but I also have virabion in the steering wheel at 1400-
1500 rpm just before it shifts to the next
gear. On slow take off that is at 20-40 and
50 mph then the drone come in at about 60 and up. It's not as bad if you are in cruise.
I do have the Harley Exhaust System on. Let me know if you find out a cure for it. Oh is did remove the weight in front of the muffler
and that helped alot. My Ford Dealer has approved everthing that has been done to my truck. In fact they installed most all the stuff.

Noticed today on the way to work, at 60mph, while maintaining throttle, the drone is there. Let off the pedal to coast, and it's gone. Throttle on, drone on. Off the gas, drone gone. We put an angle gauge on the pinion face last night and there is about 1% angle to the drive shaft. I guess I should be glad I don't have the problem in the steering wheel, as posted in the previous note. I guess this will be something for the dealer to worry about, UNDER WARRANTY.

I just installed a 2/4" drop kit on my SuperCrew and encountered the same drone at 60+. I was able to correct if by playing with the pinion angle. Since you installed shackles only and not hanger brackets, this has caused you axle to point down in relation to your driveshaft. The SuperCrew comes stock with a 1 degree shim with the thicker portion facing forward. I would remove the shim so it brings the axle angle up. If this does not solve the problem, I would reinstall the 1 degree shim but reverse it so the thicker portion is facing toward the rear. This would give you -2 degrees from stock. One of the two methods should solve your problem. The trick is to get the axle to line up straight with the driveshaft. Hope this helps.
