Unhappy Nerf Bars could they be on baCKWARDS?

I purchased the Westin Stainless steel Nerf bars fro my Screw from Discount Hitch and truck accessories. They just do not seem to fit right. I asked the guy if they were the right part number for my truck. He said they were, but after trying them out and looking at them again over the weekend, I believe they are either the wrong ones or they put them on backwards (if that is possible).I feel the Steps on the bars sit about 4 inches to far to the front which makes it difficult to sep on when entering the truck. It is especially noticable on the rear doors. The back step starts at the front door frame. I hope that made sense. Can anyone shed some light on this for me. I am going to go back tomorrow and I would like to know for sure whether it is possible to install them backwards or if I got the wrong ones.

Yes they can be mounted backwards - the shop that did mine did the same thing. All you have to do is swap sides with them. It only takes about 5 minutes to correct.

Cool

They can be put on wrong as several guys on this board can attest. You might be able to tell from this picture if yours are on correctly or not. Mine are on the right way, but a little to high.
