This is really pushing the good will/little latitude concept.

It's called the King Ranch. Comes in 3 different colors. They are a special order so don't expect the dealers to have any in stock. I wanted one, but the dealers wouldn't come off of MSRP for it, so I settled for a Lariat. The leather is very nice looking!! I am very happy with my Lariat and am now glad that I didn't pay the extra $3k.

I got the Estate Green, 5.4,4x4,Skid Plates,Moonroof,6 cd,Sliding rear window, cargo xtend,Limited slip,Trailer tow. It's at Fords site now. It's also featured in the brochure. Beautifull Truck! I own a 91 Eddie Bauer Explorer w/ 228,000 miles on it. Just had body and paint done to give to wife. Can't wait for new one. Trying to decide on tonneau cove. Want one to mach Arizona Beige two tone. any suggestions welcome.

There's one at the local Ford dealer, sitting right up front, ready to be bought. (PLAZA FORD, Lexington, NC) It's nice, but I'd tear it up for my type of use. Doc

I wouldn't buy a Ford anywhere else but Portsmouth. Bought my Explorer there back in late '90 and they beat two other dealers prices, one by 1000.00 and one by 2000.00. I've researched this truck thoroughly and I know I'm only paying 228.00 over invoice. Can't get a better deal than that anywhere. I originally was going to buy a Lariat Harvest Gold two tone off their lot but they sold it the day before I went in to buy it. I didn't care for any other colors untill the King Ranch came out with the Estate Green and I had to have it. Of course it's costing me another 1400.00 to upgrade to the King Ranch over the Lariat but the way I keep vehicles its a small price to pay over the years. I know the 5.9% financing will be over before mine comes in. I just hope there's another promo started up by then. Good luck.

Check it out...

They had a KRE at the car show in Anaheim recently and it was up on a pedestal, with a big sign that said "Do not touch" - so you couldn't climb in. Well, I'm not one for following the rules so I jumped in the back seat and closed and locked the door to check it out. Before long, one of those hot looking car show chicks told me to get out.

Here's my report: 1) Car show girls look great in tight black dresses. 2) They always smile, even while they are calling for a security guard. 3) When you get kicked out of a car show, they don't refund your admission. 4) The leather in the KRE is very, very soft and nice.

Hey Dubin Here's my report, 1) Cars show girls look great without their tight black dresses. 2) They always smile because they're doing the security guards. 3) You should get a dealer buddy to give you free passes if your gonna get tossed. 4) The leather in the KRE IS very, very soft and nice.

Hey ScrewKing,
Did Portsmouth Ford give you a good deal. We bought our Screw from them back in Sep. They seem to be a good dealer. Just wanted to Know what you think.
Hope you like the King Screw, it looks nice, we looked at them when ours was getting the oil changed, they had 9 of them back on 12-07-00. Price was around 32-34K.
Thanks
