Angry wind noise in cab

has anyone had a problem with a wind leak in the cab? When I drive from about 40mph on up, it sounds like a window is cracked open but it is not. I have brought the truck back on several occassions and they are trying to locate the source but as yet, have not found it. It is a problem I cannot live with. Anybody?

well this is a solid whistle and it is louder than the road noise. I am hoping that someone that has had this problem can tell me where it originates from so I can tell the Ford dealer.

Do you have a cellular phone antenna on the truck?
I mounted one of these on the back window and now have a whistling noise at highway speeds.
It seems that the air passing through the coil is creating my whistle!

My drivers side rear door window seal was leaking too. The dealer installed a new one which fixed it. If I just tapped the power window button down it would quiet the air leak, thats how I know it was the window seal.

Jerry.

well I thought it might be a door seal but they already replaced all the door seals. Plus the fact that the whistle does not go away when you crack the door open when you are driving. The whistle actually gets louder if you crack the window open at low speeds. Only thing I can figure there is that now the air has an escape so it can come in faster. The noise sounds like it is coming from the front driver side, ie the windshield - but you just can't put your finger on it. We duct taped the heck out of everything and still couldn't find it. I think the next move is to replace the front windshield seals. Anybody had that done? I'll keep you posted.

search this forum on 'wind noise' -
also, about 6 mos ago a member reported that one of the plastic baffles that run the length of each door was missing, causing noise-you may want to be sure all four are there on yours

Mine seems to be in the exterior mirror area around 40+ mph. I always assumed it was a whistle caused by the new lights.

where does it seem the whistle is coming from. I understand that you believe it is coming from the rear window but does it by chance sound like it is coming from somewhere else?

I am not sure what you mean by the exterior mirror area. You mean you think it is coming from the front windshield behing the rear view mirror?

What I mean is the rear view mirror mounted turn indicator light lip. I still hear it with the window down, but moving my hand around the mirror (interupting the airflow) makes it go away. Using the radio has been my fix so far.

(Thanks for the pic, Skyjet!
