Just sent my complaint. Had the screw 1 week.Did not realize the lack of headrest until I got the screw home. Did not know they redesigned the seats or I would have waited to make my purchase. This web site is great.

Done. It's great to talk about mods and to be able to ask questions in this forum, but the real impact of this website is the "unified voice" that it gives vehicle owners who would otherwise be ignored or dismissed by Ford when it comes to complaints about mechanical problems, defects, repairs, etc. Thanks to all for participating.

I sent my complaint to the NHTSA. I am a claims consultant with a major auto insurance carrier and I intend to keep a close eye on the severity and frequency of bodily injury claims involving Supercrews.

No call to me. What was the tone in the call? Does it seem like they will open an investigation?

Question

TIM56

I have not received a call from the NHTSA. A couple of questions.
1. What was the date you filed your complaint with NHTSA?
2. What were the questions they called to discuss?
Maybe our voices are being heard?

I received a call Monday, Dec 4th. I filled my report around Nov 19th. The reason I got a call was I claimed that someone had actually hit their head on the window during a sudden stop. NHTSA was interested in when my truck was built since the newer trucks are coming with head restraints. If I understood correctly Ford has not violated any code and if they did I am not sure if NHTSA can do anything about it. The only thing that may help build a case is that Ford has made some changes in the same model year. NHTSA also plains to check with other manufactures to see what the actually head clearance is for the rear passengers and what if any type of restraint that they use. It appears that NHTSA has open an investigation. He did mention that they had received several reports from the Internet. I told him I was not interested in replacement seats but was interested in getting headrest for the rear.
