Keyless Entry / Alarm?
Well, I have a Super Cab, not a SCrew, but we're both 01's, so I thought I'd try here first. I have the keyless entry, but unlike my 98 Ranger, the truck's alarm doesn't go off when the doors are opened while the "THEFT" light is blinking. I did go off on me once, I was sitting inside, with the keys out of the ingition, and the doors locked. After doing so for abour 5 mins., the alarm finally went off. What triggers it? Is their an alarm upgrade I can add using a harness or something, so that it goes off when the doors are opened? How about an alarm that goes off when it senses shock? Thanks!!!

Jackal,
What triggered the alarm was you hitting the panic button on the remote by accident and without knowing you did it.
The truck doesn't come with a true alarm from the factory. The blinking light on the dash is to verify the PATS system is working. This only acts as a starter interrupt feature. The alarm you heard, if it was the horn, like I imagine it was, was set off by the panic button on the remote.
If it wasn't the horn going off, then you might just well have an aftermarket alarm installed that they didn't tell you about. I doubt it though.
As for upgrades, There are numberous types out there that'll do exactly what you want for between $150-$250.00 on average. For about $150.00, Code Alarm/Chapman makes a upgrade that uses the original remotes that came with the truck and has a shock sensor and open door sensors. The more expensive brands will use seperate remotes and have additional features available.
