Question ? purchasing of Supercrew online

I appreciate all of the opinions, and advice that I've received prior to my making a Supercrew purchase. I've been pricing the Crew on internet sites such as Driveoff.com, and CarsDirect.com and was wondering if anyone has either purchased there truck in this manner our has utilized the pricing in negotiations with a dealer? Any insight or suggestions would be most appreciated.

you bet..print the model..options..and go over there and tell them your buying online...dont be anxious and tell them whoever can match the price of the online dealer gets your business..it worked for me..
it was a easy way to control the deal..walk away and go to more than one dealership..i had to go to three before they agreed..fully loaded4x4 for 4000.00 under MSRP..thats not bad in san francisco area..and i think its getting better for the buyer now that chevy has got the 2001 trucks in...good luck..

I'm sort of in the same boat (... truck). I have not bought the truck yet, but know exactly what I want and what my online price will be.
The approach I am using is to fax my request to as many dealers as possible, listing the items I want at both Invoice and MSRP. I tell them flat out, whomever gives me the best price gets the deal, really pretty painless for them also. It can't hurt I suppose, if nobody beats the online price I'll go there, I am certain it will still be one of the dealers I faxed to.
Good luck!

I went through the ford web site and requested quotes from some area dealers and got the price that I wanted. I did this at a time when the dealers in town were not dealing yet. They all wanted sticker price. There are alot of Screws out there now and dealers are getting competitive.

Brossman has it right.

Fax your request to as many dealers as possible. I would fax it to either the fleet manager or internet department.

Let them know you are doing it and play the dealers off against one another and you will get the best deal. With the deals Dodge and Chevy are offering, be sure to let your dealer know you'll walk across the street and visit them if the deal is not good enough.

Knowledge is power, and if you have it you will keep the upper hand.

For an interesting read, go to the Edmunds website (www.edmunds.com) and read the expose of the guy they sent undercover to be a car salesman. Gives you an inside look at the process.

Remember, play the dealers and brands off against each other and you will get a great deal.
