Angry Trailering mirrors

For months I've tried to locate mirror extensions but with no luck. It seems they don't have a slip on mirror extension for the Lariat(signal indicator in mirror head)I'm resigned to the fact that I will have to change to a set of extendable mirrors similar to the F250. The following company have what they call an "X-Mount mirror" which should do the trick when hauling a trailer. www.lucerix.com With a little paint the mirrors should appear almost stock.

oldkoot,

I'm using the same slip on mirrors that I used on my 99 Lariat on my SuperCrew Lariat. They cover up the signal mirror, but they work. You might want to go and try them on your truck. I put some felt pads on the mirror so it won't mark the paint on the mirror.

Cool

Skyjet,
Thank you,Finally a straight answer!! I have a few questions though. Are you using the Ford extensions or the ones from **** mirror(#11602)? Is the padding to protect the painted mirror head surface or the turn signal bump? Does the extension mirror clear the turn signal bump so that you can adjust the mirror properly. http://albums.photopoint.com/j/Album...8730&a=8921587

oldkoot,

I'm NOT using the mirror from Ford. The ones I'm using do not have the brand on them. I do see my brand around, but I don't remember the name. The pads are to protect the paint. You will want to clean the painted part of the mirror before using them so the dirt won't scratch the paint when you slide them on. The mirror extention covers the signal part of the mirror. This picture shows where I put the pads. The pads are the self stick type that you would use on something to protect your furniture. I did cut out the plastic so the signal could be seen from the rear, but I don't think it helped much.

Good Luck. I have some more towing info on my web page.

Skyjet,
The mirrors you have are from www.cipamirrors.com as they are the only aftermarket supplier of slip on mirrors that I have found. There part number CTM 11600(pair) for anyone else who needs a set. I ordered a set this week based on your experience. Nice job trimming them for the signal indicator, I will do the same.I assume the bar inside is a pressure strip to hold them in place. Again thanks for the help!

oldkoot,

The bar does hold the mirror extention on the OEM mirror. On the backside of the mirror, there is a **** that tightens the bar against the OEM mirror.
