Fender Flares
While waiting so patiently for our arrival date (10/28, we hope), been noticing the color matching fender flares, especially those on the two-tones. Is this an aftermarket thing or something we need to go thru the dealer for to make sure of matching the color? Or do they come with the lower two-tone paint option? If so, I don't remember any mention of that so I tend to think not.

If its anything like how the pinstripe and decal colors are selected, you will be lucky if all 4 fender flares are the same color, let alone color coordinated!
My stripes and stickers lasted about 2 weeks before they ended up in the garbage can.

The wheel well flares will match the lower paint. Wheel well flares are not included with the 4x2 XLT.
I added them on my 97 XL supercab. It is not a fun installation.

Ok, since we're waiting on a 4x2 XLT and not a Lariat, I guess we will be flare-less. Where do we find these to match the 2-tone?
John in Cal: any installation tips/advice? Other than maybe letting somebody else do it?

CrewDawg. The stock wheel well flares are about $70 each, at least they were in 97. They require four machine screws and clips on the inside of the wheel well. There are 40 push clips that require holes on the outside of the wheel well. Pictured below are the clips.
You can remove them but the flares don't mount real flush to the fender when you do.
All in all the after market flares install easier, but you give up the factory look.
Good luck..
