Mine was right out front behind the lower grill. I'll double check in the light tomorrow. BTW, I thought I rememberd something that the post 2001.5 trucks lost the heater as an option, or something. Mine was built pre but delivered post, so I checked on delivery and it was there. When was yours built?

Yup, mine was there right behind the driver's side bumper opening (next to the front liscense plate). Mine was built first week in Aug, with delivery in the 3rd week of Aug.

I checked Edmunds and they listed the heater as "
41H Engine Block Heater
Includes heavy-duty battery. Recommended when minimum temperature is -10 degrees F or below. NOT AVAILABLE with 535. "

535 is the towing package. Hmmm, I wonder if Ford thinks people in cold climates never tow... There is probably some mechanincal difference, but not having a newer one to compare with, I guess I will never know...

Thumbs up

Dt:
Found the heater cord. It was right where you said, Thanks. Now to get some cold weather and plug it in and see if it works as good as the one I had on my 91 Explorer?

There's actually more than one "41H" option shown on the price sites. One is without 535 trailer tow and it has that heavy duty battery and stuff and costs 70 bucks or so. The other one is when you already have 535 and it costs $30. the reason why the one you looked at says "not available with 535" is because some of the equipment like the heavy duty battery is duplicated and that 70 dollar cost is not accurate.

Yeah, somewhat makes sense, but I still believe Ford could do a better job explaining the difference.

Also, according to Edmunds there was no difference in prices between the two 41h's.

"41H Engine Block Heater
Includes heavy-duty battery. Recommended when minimum temperature is -10 degrees F or below. NOT AVAILABLE with 535. $77 $90
41H Engine Block Heater
Includes 600-Watt element. Recommended when minimum temperature is -10 degrees F or below. NOT AVAILABLE with 535. $77 $90 "

Nothing more than an observation...
