Post Husky Mud Flaps

For those who're interested, Husky now has the rear flaps available.

Mine arrived yesterday, I held them up in place and they fit very well.

I just hate to drill into the fenders!

Maybe some silicone sealant would help to prevent the holes from rusting?

Will try to mount them this weekend.

Do you have the 16 or 17 inch tires?? I am interested if they are large enough for the wider 17 inch tires....Thanks

I put mine on last weekend (both F&R), and they all fit quite well. Maybe there's a trick, but I ended up having to take the rear wheels off to do the back. The front are easy to do.

BTW, they are wide enough for the 17" wheels.

The fronts were easy, just turned the wheels to the side. For the rears, I used a Dremel with the flex attachment and drilled through from the rear to get mine on. Then I used a right-angle screwdriver to drive the screws in. Took some time, and doing the drilling was very scary, but they fit great and look sharp with my all black lariat.

I ordered the set online from www.roadworks.com, $58 no shipping or tax.

Mike.

Fergy and ChrisS,

Could one of you post some pictures. I have been waiting for my dealer to get in the flaps for months now.

Thanks,

Question

Fergy, ChrisS, and osr5dude,

Do you all have Lariats WITH the factory wheel well moldings/flares??? I'd really like a set of these mud flaps for my XLT which has no moldings, but I've been told the Huskys won't fit.

Also, do any of you guys have the factory running boards?? I'm curious how the front mud flaps fit around them. As someone already asked, pictures would be great!

Thanks in advance. I'd really like ta know!

Mine is an XLT. Don't know when I'll get them mounted.

I did hold them in place, they're going to fit my truck just fine! I think you'll be satisfied. I'm rather picky and I have no "fit" concerns, I'm just not happy about drilling into the fender lip to accept the mounting screws.

When I get them mounted I'll post a picture, I'm just afraid that it's going to be awhile.

Sorry, I don't have a digital camera to take pictures with. They do fit and are effective. It rained here for about 2 days straight, and I drove about 200 miles in the wet, and the truck is still quite clean. I would highly recommend putting on the fronts as well, because without the guards, the front tires on mine would kick up all kinds of crud all down the side of the truck. They also look good too!

I have nerf bars, not the factory running boards, so I just used the standard (F150 w/ flares) front guards. I know that Husky just came out with some fronts specifically for those with running boards, but I have not seen them.

Unhappy

I just purchased a set of Husky Mud Guards model number 56501 for the front of my '01 Screw with factory running boards. The mud guards have a nice fit around the running boards and fender flares, however, they DO NOT WORK with 17 inch tires and wheels. The tire hits inner part of the guards as soon as you turn the wheel.
