Air Bags and Sensors
Hey All,
I "T-Boned" a van a couple weeks ago at 55 mph and the air bags didn't go off. I'm glad they didn't, but upon tear down to repair the truck, 2001 Supoercrew, neither myself nor the Ford mechanics can find the air bag sensors. Has anybody found theirs, and where are they? I sent an email to Ford and got a cal today saying I would have to go through my insurance company to get to them. I'm not trying to sue anybody yet, just wanting to know where the sensors are. That might explain why they didn't go off, it might not. If I understand corretly, the new airbags should go off upon rapid decelaration. I experienced that as we went from 55 to 0 in 50 feet. The impact sheared the left front wheel. Anybody got any experince, ideas, or suggestion?
Thanks,
Randy
