Question soft tonneau cover

I am interested in a tonneau cover for my screw. Does anybody have any experience with any of the brands out there? Do any cover the bed rail caps? Any help would be appreciated.

Me too!

Because the bed is curved at the back I wonder if there are any covers that follow this line?

Thumbs up

Today I had a local automotive upholstery shop build a vinyl tonneau for my 2001 Screw. He put two crossbars in, used snaps every 4 inches all around, and will give me a lifetime warranty against snaps tearing out and seams pulling apart. It looks great and doesn't flap more than a half inch at 85 mph. I think it was a good deal at $125...

Question

OnBelay,

Were the snaps for your cover on an aluminum frame, or were the snaps drilled directly on the truck? That price sounds almost too good to be true!

Yea, when I ordered mine I had the factory tonneau spec'd but the dealer said even though there is a code out there it is not yet available.

Pictures of the Extang installed would be great!

My SCrew has the plastic top rails, and the upholsterer pop riveted the snaps into the plastic top rail only. They are NOT drilled through to the bed. He warned me that once in a while the bottom half of the snap may pull out of the plastic (meaning the "throat" of the pop rivet might pull through), but I had to pull them off today and at least, going slow, they all seemed fairly secure. I snapped them back down after hauling the load, and everything is back to hunky dory! :-)
I will attempt to get some pics for y'all and post 'em....

If Edmunds lists the tonneau cover as 86T it's wrong - that's the tonneau cover for the Sport Trac.
