21 weeks and She's Finally Here!
Hey Ya'll,
Just heard from the Dealer. After 21 weeks, my SuperCrew has finally arrived. I don't know if I should be Happy or relieved.
I would like to get some thoughts on the following topics... I know they have been talked about before.
Undercoating...??? Worth it? Good Price?
All those other Dealer stuff?
Extended Warrenty???? 6 years 100k What's a good price?
Any other things to watch out for when closing the deal?
Thanks in advance for your input.

If I were you, I would decline everything they offer no matter how good it sounds. To be safe, try to think of everything you could possibly want on your vehicle first, and then price it out in the normal market so you know if they are telling you the truth when they say something is a great deal. Everything they tack on is for the sole purpose of beefing up their profit margins. Are you financing it through them? If so, be sure to bring your calculator and the appropriate mathematical formula to calculate the payments yourself. Many "finance" people will slip in extra numbers like fees you haven't agreed to pay (ex: Processing fee) and you may not notice the few extra dollars per month. Read everything very very carefully. Many people get screwed when they go into the finance office because they think the hard part is over. They've negotiated a deal they are happy with and are unaware it is the finance person's job to get them to spend more.
It's important to be patient, careful, unemotional, and ask lots of questions.
Sorry to sound so cynical, but I see people get screwed all the time.

It's about negotiating for a new car.
Good luck and enjoy your SuperCrew!!!!!

T21,
That's a long time to wait!
In addition to Jills suggested site, check out Edmunds.com .
Look into new car buying tips, I think that's the heading it's under. They have a lot of great information.
My God man! What have you been doing, while you've been waiting. ( just kidding )
When mine finally came in, I just about pounced on my salesman when I saw him :^D
I had a note book, stuffed with notes and prices, calculater, pencil, printouts and brochures.
Good luck to ya!

You lucky stiff the hard part is over dude. It's real simple you go in with a check from a lending institution made out to exactly the amount you agreed upon when you ordered. TAX TITLE AND LICENSE and thats it. He/she starts adding crap you show them the check and walk out. Thats as simple as you can do it. No questions no hassles and screw the fianance office dude/dudette.

Thanks Guys and Gals for the info.
I picked up my SuperCrew Yesterday. Boy is she sweet! No dealer extras. No pressure either. I even asked about the extended warrenty, he initially said around $2200! Of which I almost fainted. He said that dealer cost was around $1800. He even showed me the book. I mentioned about others out there via the internet that have gotten it for $800-$1300. He said no way could someone get a Ford Extended warrenty for a 4x4 F150 for that price. Maybe only the base plan, but he said they don't even try to sell that. So anyhow I drove away without it.
I should mention that I was able to purchase my truck through the employee/family A-plan. My total including shipping was $27008 then + tax and title. But as I mentioned initially it took 21 weeks. The price works out to about 3% below invoice. (give or take a few bucks)
The guy I was dealing with was really pretty good about it. A-plan, no haggle, no pressure. It's my 1st purchase via the employee/family discount.
So again, thanks for all the good info.
