Anyone regret buying SuperCrew??
Count me as another very satisfied owner, even though I think I've got a wheel bearing going bad at 19K miles.
I had a Tacoma because I wanted a truck for landscaping and home projects but still needed something for my commute to work. But soon after I bought it I knew it was a mistake. My two boys want to go with their dad and I felt uncomfortable having them riding around with their heads resting against the back window. Also, we realized that we really needed both of our vehicles to be able to carry the whole family. Then child #3 was coming and we decided to start looking.
Seriously thought about buying a Dakota Quadcab. Spent several hours at the dealer going back and forth. Decided they wanted too much money. And I heard horror stories about gas mileage from a friend with a Durango.
Soon after that I saw my first SuperCrew. We took a drive and were hooked. Bought a 2002 XLT in July 02. It is exactly what we wanted. The whole family can go anywhere. We load up the back with camping gear, bikes and take off for Yosemite, Lake Powell, Joshua Tree, Mt. Lassen. I've never found the short bed to be a problem. We love our truck.

My first truck was a Toyota Tacoma 4x4. After owning that and finding out that The Screw I was looking at had gotten the same milage or better. I had to get the Super crew cause I like comfort without the extra cost of fuel. After a test drive I was hooked.
I have a 2001 XLT 4.6. When I go to pick my 14 yr old son up that lives 1½hrs away. He heads right for the back seat with his Xbox and LCD screen, which I highly recomend for kids in a supercrew. Lots of room and not agitated to get to point B. All ya need is a 400 watt converter that plugs into a cigarette lighter.
Over all, Even though it's just myself and my son and a occasional few passengers now and then, I don't regret my decision.
oh, by the way, I topped out at 21.4 mpg. My toyota never would have matched.

I owned a 1998 supercab, and it was fine for our first child, then we found out we were having another one. I traded the 98 for a 2002 true blue screw fx4. Like all the other threads, it was the best move we could have made for a growing family.
I was able to get my Arctic Cat 454 4X4 atv in the bed (barely fit) and safely haul it around. It also hauled a small load of gravel and rock, but it didn't like it to much. However, for me the bed was a little to small and I really missed having the 6 1/2 footer. I haul lumber sometimes, and it was a pain to have to get shorter boards just cause I had a smaller bed.
I bought my wife a 1998 E.B. Explorer off of Ebay, and then went in to the dealership to refinance the Screw. With the incentives and apr's at the time, I was able to get a brand new truck for the same cost of refinancing the Screw (going from a lease to purchase). So, I got another supercab, a 2003 Heritage Edition, but sometimes, I do miss the supercrew for the rear seat room. After I'm done finishing my house, I'll look into getting a 2010 Screw, or whatever they'll call it then.

My last truck I got talked out of getting the supercrew by my family because I am single and wouldn't need all of that room. I couldn't take it no more and with these great new trucks out I had to get what I WANTED. I have never regretted it except for not getting it sooner just like 5.4-FX4 said.
I also have two boys and this was the first truck I bought. I considered the new Dodge Ram but the rear seats were small and Dodge's quality remained questionable. I love the room in this truck. The kids have plenty of room to grow in it when they get older. Not to mention they have killer looks!
This was the first brand new vehicle that I ever owned .... and the absolute best purchase that I ever made. I always thought that it would be great if Ford made a half-ton crew cab vehicle, as it seemed like the perfect vehicle for all of my needs. Within the year Ford created it .. makes me wonder if someone was listening in on a conversation!?! Definitely a great vehicle!
No regrets at all, I went from a '97 Explorer getting 14 MPG in town to a 5.4 L Supercrew and get the same. More room, comfortable back seat for the kids, no problem. The only problem is that I had to rearrange my garage to make it fit.
No regrets. I love the truck, as it fits me and my kids real good. The only regret that I have is that Ford quality isn't there, and they continue to remind you about it when it comes time to get the dealership to fix anything. So like I tell anyone who asks, I love it, but it is the biggest piece of crap I have ever owned.
No regrets at all. Bought my '01 last July with 28K miles on it, and I've put 10K on since then, including our move from Seattle back to San Diego towing my wife's Explorer. It is easier to get the kids (1 year and 3 years) in and out of the back of the Screw than it is the 4 door Explorer.
