Post Tailgate question, what's the bracket for ??

I noticed on my S-Crew that there is a small bracket bolted to the bottom of the tailgate towards the right hand side. There is also a small bolt/stud that sticks out from the bed that sets in the middle of the bracket.
What is this for?

Cool

Besides adding considerable cost to the price of the supercrew, I think it is to prevent the tailgate from hitting the bumper when you undo the two cables to remove the tailgate.

Thanks,
now that I think about it, that seems perfectly logical.
