I had heard that Clarion makes them, also that the extra CD holders were VERY expensive.

Cool

The head-unit and the radio controlled cd changer are made by clarion.

Radios and more
sells the changer for $309 and extra cartridges for $25.

The system produced good quality tunes provided you change out the four pathetic 6x8 paper speakers.

The CD unit on the above mentioned website looks like the changer I currently have in my 97 Expy.

A New Generation Clarion CD changer appears to be installed in all S_Crews. The current cartridges I have in the Expy don't fit in the S_Crew's changer, but "supposedly" you can pick up spares at Circuit City for around $30 a pair, or $20 a piece. Also, the current SuperCabs have a Sanyo changer for some reason so they're not interchangable for parts.

You might also want to check with Crutchfield for cartridges. The 2 spares I have in the Expy were originally $25.00 each

I ordered 2 cartridges from www.radiosandmore.com and got them the next day via FedEx. They were $25 each + $5 shipping. Both total was $55. Call him on his toll free # and give him the Ford number on the cartridge. He said Ford has been using different changers depending on what is available. Mine is #F8VF-18C833-AE.
I highly recommend them. I talked to Bill and he was very polite and prompt with the order.
