Air Pressure in Tires
My salesman pointed out to me the recomended air pressure (located on the door post sticker)for my tires, 26 psi in front and 32 psi in back for BF Goodrich T/A Radials 275-60R17.
Does anyone know why the low pressure is needed for the front?
What happened to the 28-32 psi range we had years ago? I always thought 26 psi was a low tire.

Truck tires today are thicker, stiffer, stronger, and have a lower profile. They are able to hold up better under lower pressures than tires of yesteryear.
Under normal conditions, your front psi should be greater than your rear psi (the front weighs more, and tire pressure is weight dependent).
The door sticker lists the max weights for your truck - and their associated tire pressures. The sticker has the rear weighing in at 2000lbs more, hence the higher tire pressure.
I wrote a detailed thread describing how to properly set your tire's pressure. You can find it here: https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/000382.html
