Tim:
Last time I checked, the front end set-up seemed the same for the Supercrew as it is for the standard F-150. Here's a link to an older post on front end treatment options: https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/000550.html

There's been quite a bit written on this topic. For more info, do a search in the "other body" forum. Hope this helps.

Lightbulb Air dam vs. Bumper Cover

Has anyone added an air dam or bumper cover to their SCrew? I like the looks of the Lightning, Harley-Davidson F150, as well as the Roush front ends. I want to change my front end and have not decided which will work best for me or if their is a good aftermarker air dam or bumper cover that will work well.

Thanks
Tim

selva1,

Thanks for your help. I had been browsing the other parts of the forums but had not found specific details.

I like your bumper cover how did you install it? Also how about the fog lights, how do they mount to the cover and how did you wire them?

One last thing, I was told by one dealer that if I put a bumper cover on I would decrease my MPG by about 2 miles per gallon. Have you noticed any changes?

Thanks
Tim

Hey Tim:

I installed the cover the hard way. The easy way is to remove the bumper, strip off the top and bottom sections, then mount the cover and re-install the whole assembly. Problem is, I have never seen anyone do this and get it lined up right again. I left the bumper on, took out the grill shell, stripped off the top and bottom sections of the bumper, then slid it down over from the top. It's a pain, but bumper alignment never changes this way.

The foglights were designed for the cover and were an extra $100. They have a frame that mounts to the cover openings with three screws each. They also came with a complete wiring harness and a switch for inside the cab.

As far as the dealer's claim goes.........that's a good one. I think he was yankin' ya. Come to think of it, the lightning has a bumper cover and gets worse mileage. Hmmmm, but I think it's the 100hp supercharger that's the culprit there. Anyway, no change in mileage here.
