K&N Air filter
Sorry if this question has already been answered, but I searched in the SuperCrew area and was unable to find the answer.
I want to install a K&N Air filter in my new SuperCrew (5.4L engine). How much should it cost? Where can I get one? Does anyone have the part number for this? The F150online store doesn't list one specifically for the 2001 SuperCrew unless it's the same one that's listed for the 1997-2000 F150s?
Is the OEM air filter for the SuperCrew a typical paper filter?
Also, I just read a disturbing thread over in the Engine message board talking about K&N vs. Amsoil filters:
https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/001981.html
I think I'm still going to use the K&N filter since I don't think Amsoil makes air filters for the 5.4L engine yet. Has anyone heard or seen differently?

Found my box and receipt in the garage. I bought my K&N @ Off road wherehouse in southern california (www.offroadwarehouse.com). theydonthave an online store yet, but you should be able to find something in your area.
The part # I got was E-0945, or KN-E-0945, its sayon the box, it is for a Ford Mustang. (I bought my filter back in April and K&N didnt have a "crew" part #. They might now. It fits perfect, and is probably the sme type intake. Price I paid was 49.99 plus tax. None of my local auto parts stores had any in stock and some were higher priced.
Good Luck. Oh and keep the old one around, as you will need it to replace the K&N while you wait a day or two for it to dry after cleaning after many miles!

I put mine in tonight. For convenience, I ordered it from Performance Products on this site, along with a cleaning kit. Click the link for the price. I saved my old one - it only has 400 miles on it and looks brand-new.
Now that I have the SuperChip and the K&N in, plus synthetic oil, I will watch my gas mileage and see what I get over the next three tanks (it won't take long - I can't stop driving it!).

WATCH OUT!
I went ahead and ordered the K&N Filter Injection Performance Kit from f150online.com last week and then waited for my truck to come in so that I could install it. My truck came in yesterday and I installed the system today. Well, kind of. After taking out the entire stock intake system, which did get to be rather time consuming for myself and my two roommates, we got everything set for the K&N Filter Injection Performance Kit.
But of course this story couldn't be that simple. Missing from all of the stuff that was sent to me was one of the silicone hoses that connects the air intake tube to the throttle body. Oops! So now my old stock system is out, with some of the parts incorporated into the K&N Filter Injection Performance Kit, which makes for reinstalling of that until I can get Lemere Enterprises to send me a silicone hose rather difficult. Of course I can't use the K&N system as I cannot hook it up to the throttle body itself.
So I wish that I could give y'all a good rundown on how well it works, performs, etc., but at this point in time I cannot. I'm still waiting to here back from Lemere Enterprises to see if they can overnight me the hose. If not, then I'm in big trouble and will be a very upset customer.
Check back for an update once, and if, I ever get this thing working.

Well, things are going to turn out pretty good with the predicament that I am in with the entire K&N air intake system. Roger Lemere called me back today and said that he is sending me another system to my house via UPS next day air. I will then take out the part that I need from that package and install it in my truck. He'll then also pay for me to send the rest of the package back to him.
This is the kind of answer that I was looking for from him and was glad that he was quick in responding to me and taking care of my needs. I have now purchased two products from him and, after this demonstration of his company's customer service, will not hesitate to buy more from him. And with me wanting to continue to upgrade my truck, he can be sure that I will buy more.
Kudos to Roger Lemere and Lemere Enterprises!
