Post Michelin Tires

Anyone running Michelin LTX M&S or A/T tires? I am looking to replace the RT/S tires that are coming on my SCrew and I like the Michelins.

I too like the Michelins. I switched over upon delivery. My tires are the 245-75 R16's and I found the ride changed to a slightly more firm ride as they are 10 ply.but they are quiet on the highway. I had them do the balancing on the inside of the mag so it looks cleaner and the weight wouldn't corrode the rim as some do over time. I probably did not give the Goodyears a fair evaluation, but I had the Michelins for the last 6 years on my past truck and thought they were very good in wet and snow conditions. They look great as well. Just my 2 cents.

Question

Does Michelin make a 17" version? If so, any idea how much are they?

Michelin makes a 265-70-17 in the LTX M & S tire.

Another great tire is the Bridgestone Dueler 693. They make a P265RS70/16 thats the same diamater as teh 245R75/16'2. Look better and are great in the rain.

There are many online stores selling tires, but I have bought tires earlier from this very professional online store and was completely satisfied with the service. Please try out: www.clicktire.com, they are trained and qualified besides providing you with the customer service and satisfaction to fit your budget and needs.

I wanted to get LTX M/S but went with
the goodyear silent armour. They are so quiet and seem to being wearing well.

I ran a set of Michelin 265x70x17's on my sCrew and got a bit less than 30,000 miles out of them. They rode great, but wore out much faster than I anticipated. I am now using the Continental CrossContact LX. They were about 1/2 the price of the Michelins. I have about 10,000 miles on them and they are wearing and driving fine. I have used other Conti's and and not been pleased, but my tire guy suggested these as a new line of truck tires that he personally used. I figured for the price I'd give them a try.

Michelin Cross Terrains

I bought a set of these last year to replace my OEM Generals.

Honestly I couldn't be happier with the change. I have always run Michelins in the past with awesome results everytime.

Here is a link to the ones I bought.

Mine were purchased from my local sam's Club. I did have to order them and it just took a few days to get them in.

They give the best all around traction of any Michelin tire I have purchased.

Hope this helps..

Jeff

I replaced the factory Generals at 50,000 miles, I was strapped for cash at the time and the local tire guy (that I respect and have history with) had a set of Firestone tires on sale. I have been pretty impressed with them and at almost 60,000 miles later they are still turning but need to be replaced soon and am thinking about switching to the Michelin's. I always thought that I was the only Ford owner running on Firestones but have met several people that have them as well and seem to like them. I would like to go with a little bigger wheel/tire package but only have about 1 inch before hitting the garage door opener right now - so unless there is a forum for making more headroom in the garage, I am staying put.

People need to get off the brand. Every brand sells relatively poor tires and relatively good tire models. Best to look at specific tire model information, reviews, and feedback when judging what to buy. Take a look at any of the Tirerack surveys. There is a Goodyear model on top and a different Goodyear model on the bottom, for example. But a good tire, not just a brand.

I'd be surprised to hear of anyone getting less than 50k miles from the LTX M/S. 80-100k is quite common. It is a great on-road tire, but certainly homely looking.

I had P255/70R16 Cross Terrains on my truck since new. We bought her off the showroom with Firestones, but a year later my dad switched upon the Exploder/Firestone fiasco. 8 years and 80,000 miles later, I switched from my old and worn Cross Terrains to the newest Michelin tire, the P255/70R16 Latitude Tour. Its quieter than the cross-terrains and rides a lot smoother too. MY local tire guy told me they are stopping production of the Cross-Terrains in favor of the new Latitude tour. I paid $165/ea with free mount and balance at a Gainesville Discount Tire. They also threw in free rotation for the life of the tires.
