Post Check your transmission fluid

Having just hit the 1,000 mile mark I brought my truck in to have the oil changed for the first time. When the guy checked my transmission level I had a little surprise. "Your dip sticks dry" he says, of course knowing this was a new truck and could not happen, I had him check again. He was right, no fluid on the stick!
Ended up adding 2 qts. of fluid. I'll be checking with my dealer later!
Better check your level out there!

Sonoma,

Shortly after I got my '98 Expy, I noticed a small spot on my driveway. Turns out the trans fluid was ever so slowly leaking from the clamp that attaches to the auxilliary Trans Cooler. I notice you have the Tow package on your SuperCrew. You may want to look for any excess Trans fluid that has leaked into/onto the undercarriage parts. All the dealer had to do was tighten up the clamp (so they told me). Depending on the leak, you could be losing quicker than I was.

I think I found your 2 quarts as I had to have mine drained. It was approx 1&1/2 quarts too full! Go figure.

My transmission fluid was also high apparently the dearlers aren't doing their job when they prep their vehicles.
