Naked Truck
CrewBoy,
My truck got naked the week I got it. I think the all black truck looks 100% better without the tan and red pinstripes ... especially since I have gray leather interior. Removing the stripes was a breeze.

I'm torn on the topic. My white SC has a red pin stripe - probably not what I would have chosen with the harvest gold two tone, but it's not terrible. I'll probably live with it for a week or two and then decide.

Well, I can't pull the stripes off where the two-tone paint meets, so I left the upper stripe & Lariat sticker on.
But removed the Gold 4x4 symbol. I like the stripes but the're the wrong color for the truck.

I was reading the thread on "Is Ford listening" and wondered about how many of you have a naked truck? Our bright red monochrome/grey leather came with tan and orange Lariat stripes and gold 4x4; we had the dealer remove them before delivery.
I think it looks much better without the stickers. So, how many naked trucks out there? :-)

I have the gold pin stripping and lariat stickers on my amazon green SuperCrew, with parchment Leather interior. I think it adds alot to the truck. I'm keeping the pin stripes on mine.

I probably would have left the stripes on if they would have been only red, or if they were red and silver. My problem was I thought that the tan (gold) clashed with the silver interior.
There is one othe problem with the stipes you will need to watch for wax buildup around the edges of the stripes.

I'm going to order a solid black 4x4 Lariat within a week. Is there any way to order w/o the stickers/stripe? If not, how is everyone removing w/o dammage to the paint below? Chemicals? Fingernail & pry up? Warm first w/ a hair dryer? Is the stripe similar to what you could buy in a roll at the auto parts store, or is it something different? What are you using to remove the sticky residue?
Thanks in advance. For those of you who I was discussing the sunroof with, I am caveing and ordering it too...

I have taken off the decals on other cars with a hair dryer and a little patience. The dealer took the lariat pinstriping and 4x4 off the truck with a heated rubber tipped tool, was fast and easy. Just wax and it was like it was never there.
When I decided to take mine off, we happened to be having some cool weather. I started at a corner and slowly pealed it off. No heater, no glue left, waxed it the next day. You would never know it was there.

I am sure you will be able to pull the stripes off without any problem. If you set the truck out in the sun you should not even need a hair dryer to pull them off. In a way it is sorta scary how easy they pull off. I have a black Lariat and I like the truck better without the stripes.

CrewBoy woody24 docker & Tim56Ford,
Thanks for the advice. Since I am likely to go through a local buying service, I may not get too much Dealer attention aside from the paperwork and the check. Because this is such a nice truck, I guess I am just a little nervous about something that could potentially screw things up. Sounds like I don't need to worry so much. I'll post a few pics when it finally gets here.

I had the bright orangeish/redish 4x4 Sport sticker removed from my black F150 by the dealer when I bought it. I might have kept it if it were grey, but the bright orange/red color looked out of place. Has a much cleaner look without it.

Tim56Ford- I wanted to know what color stripe
my all black sc would come with(looks like
Ford could provide that info, but have not found anyone that could tell me). I was hoping it might come with gold/blue stripe, but I guess not if your's came with red.
