Supercrew and 4" lift....
Does anyone know why one of the 4" lifts from Trailmaster, ProComp or Superlift wouldn't work with the new Supercrew.
I'm debating on this subject of the lift. On my last truck I just cranked the torsion bars a little to make it sit level and realigned the front end and used 16x8 rims with 285x75x16's. I like this look but it does make it ride a tad stiffer.
With the 4" lift it has been my experience they tend to ride just as good or even a little better with the better shocks.
If I were to go with a 4" lift in everyone's opinion which set up would look better 16x8 rims with 295x75x16 tires or 16.5x9.75 rims with 33x12.5x16.5 tires.
So many options. I know the first option would be alot cheaper.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be great food for thought....thanks Greg

Since you already have the 16x8's...go with 315/75/16's (same size as the 35/12.5/16.5's) just a different rim size!
Just my $.02

I did a little research on the 4 inch lift subject. I called Trailmaster's tech line and waited on hold for about fifteen minutes till I could talk to a guy who kinda acted like he was put out to have to answer a question. I asked him if the 4 inch lift for the F150 4x4 would work on the Supercrew OR if they had a system just for the Supercrew he told me that the F150 lift wouldn't work and that it would be about 3 to 4 months before they had one available that would work.
Then today I pull up to a stop sign and next to me is a brand new supercrew with a trailmaster 4 inch lift. I know it was a trailmaster lift ( I've had two in the past) because the relocation torsion bar brackets are pretty distinctive. Plus the shocks had trailmaster decals on them.
So now I'm confused. Was the trailmaster guy I talked to on the phone just wanting to get rid of me and took the easy way out by saying "no" or did the truck I saw this morning have some sort of modified lift to make it work. I think the rear is the part of the lift in question.
Anyway the truck I saw looked good with the lift. It had some weld wheels with some swamper looking tires on it...didn't see if they were 16 or 16.5 rims. Next time I see him I'll try and get the dirt on the lift.
If anyone can shed some light on this please help out....thanks Greg....

Can't offer any technical details, however, I saw a SuperCrew at a dealership with a 4" Trailmaster lift. Unsure if any special modifications were made.
Had 33X12.50 tires. Did not take note of the rim size. I would question if 35's would work as there did not seem to be enough clearance on the back side of the rear wheel well.

The only difference between the SuperCab chassis and the SuperCrew chassis is the staggered rear shocks. Even then, the shocks are probably the same length. So the only reason I can think of that they would say that the lift wouldn't work is because the guy on the phone was covering his a**.

Stopped at Fabtech today. They will be installing a 6" lift on somebodys Supercrew starting tomorrow. It's a test vehicle so they will have it for a couple of days. I'll try to snap off a couple pictures while it's there.
USAF K9, If I'm able to get the pics, can I e-mail them to you to post?

Just an update on one of the previous posts I made.
I talked to the shop that did the install on the Supercrew I saw with the lift.
It had a superlift kit on it and a 3 inch body lift too. It had 35 inch super swampers on 16.5 Weld wheels.
The truck looked neat but for me I would of just done the lift and not the body lift and put on a little smaller less agressive (noisy) tires.
Anyway it was for sure a superlift kit. Mystery solved.

I just had the Rancho 4 Inch Lift Kit and RS9000's installed in my SuperCrew last week. The kit they used was the RS6489 and the only thing not used in the kit was the transmission crossmember. Truck rides great and really looks 100% better. 4 Wheel Parts Performance Centers in Norcross GA. completed all the work. I have 285-75-16's on 16x8 wheels and need to go 35 inch tires. Hope this helps some of you looking to lift your trucks. Rancho's products are first class!

I have seen a similar (if not the same lift) on a Showroom Supecrew. Bob Baker Ford in San Diego, CA has a black Supercrew with the Rancho Lift on it. Pretty Slick, but it was up to high on a display rack to see how much the Rancho suspension lift, wheels and tires "Add-on" was. Most of the kit parts are red in color and makes an awesome contrast.
