Question

2000 XLT Expedition 2WD 4.6L, base invoice price = $26,768.

2000 XLT SuperCrew F150 2WD 4.6L base invoice price = $23,442

From my calculations that is a difference of $3326.

2000 Eddie Bauer Expedition 4WD 5.4L, base invoice price = $35,303.

2000 Lariat SuperCrew F150 4WD 5.4L base invoice price = $28,401.

This is a HUGE difference of $6902.

If you put every option on the previous vehicles the SuperCrew would be $31,000 and the Expedition would be $39,113.

I am confused as to how this makes the production costs of the SuperCrew more than the Expedition. Call me crazy!!

Got My Lariat (All but moonroof, A/V and cab steps) for $700 over invoice...Sticker $34,600 or so, final sales price $29,700.

Do NOT buy anything else that day from them...all financing for this model year is premium terms (RIPOFF...go to your credit union), all insurances for the loan (disability, etc.) is also a profit maker for the dealer. Get independent insurance for such concerns. Also, LOJACK (if you're interested) is $595 at most dealers...you can get it for $395 on the web (www.lojack.com)

Everything they offer, particularly in the finance office (and ESPECIALLY if they say it is non-negotiable), like extended warranties are another place where the dealer makes HUNDREDS of dollars.

The bottom line is that the buying process is STILL about seperating YOU from your money on products that the dealer adds NO value to. Even in the dealerships that plainly mark the "pre-negotiated" proce on the window. Bless them because they lower the bar for negotiations at the old fashioned drawn out negtiations dealers ("I'll have to take this to my manager - but he's gonna kill me.")

Best of luck and NEVER look back. You can only do the best you can TODAY.

In nine months Ford is going to be offering $2000 rebates or 0.0% financing on already discounted SCrews. We know that's coming. So, enjoy today, drive with a smile.

Joe

damn, kinda wish i hadn't posted this topic. didn't mean to get everyone worked up. just was kinda raising a flag and making folks aware of dealerships who play dirty pool and different tactics so you can be prepared.

ditto, 1stSuperCrew! couldn't have been said any better. congrats to those of you that have gotten the most for your money. it's nice to see some REAL numbers.

I know I posted this info in a previous thread in February, but for the record - My dealer did NOT want to negotiate at first just as many on this board have experienced. I was a repeat customer at this dealer and stated my knowledge of dealer invoice pricing and how an ordered vehicle costs them less since it won't be on their lot racking up interest on THEIR dime. I offered $400 over invoice, the manager came over and countered with $500 over invoice. I accepted knowing I might have been able to beat them up for another hundred or so, but it was not worth it to me. I had them write up the order on the spot, and verified pricing against Edmunds.com and it was right on the money (no pun intended). I ordered it on February 25 and just today received word that my build date is May 1st and delivery date is May 15.

FYI- just ordered my supercrew $500 over invoice. Also, Ford gives $500 rebate for Farm Bureau members (no, you dont have to be a farmer). But, you'll need to be a member for 30 days prior to delivery. So,join while your waiting for that new truck!

Another future Northern California Supercrew member! Welcome. You got a good deal with $500 over dealer cost, I had the same. I asked my dealer a month or so ago about the Farm discount and it was not being offered then. You made out on that one.

Cool

Anybody within reasonable driving distance to South Carolina check out Al Bilton Ford in Holly Hill S.C. (45 minutes west of Charleston. Ask for Mike Buckley. He will sell you the Super Crew the way you want it for $200 UNDER INVOICE!!! The only catch is you have to order it. They will also require a $500 deposit. Mike claims current delivery time is 11-12 weeks. This was my deal:

Captains Chairs
Class III towing group
Limited Slip
Total cost excluding tax = 26,361.
That price includes everything such as advertising fee, dest & del and $18 of gas.

Cool

That price was for 2 wheel drive. All you got to do is call Mike and tell him you want to order for $200 under invoice and it is a done deal. No haggle. Best price I could find including fleet pricing available to me. Have not seen a better deal posted anywhere.

thanks for brining this tread to the top. now i don't have to look for it even though that was my agenda for the day.

i created this tread and specified exactly what i paid. see top. update...military car sales has a lowest price gaurantee up to 14 days after delivery. luckily my truck was delivered to green valley ford in fairfield, ca which just happened to have a supercrew on the lot with a factory sticker of $32,560. their asking price $28,995. i got all the paperwork and faxed it to my agent. today they matched the price plus $25. in addition, i obtained the price of the bed extender which was $354 and faxed that as well. they footed the bill for that also for a total return of $1,386 which brings the final price to $28,641. love my "crew"
