My Lariat has the 17" chrome wheels. I saw talk of the 17" 10-spoke aluminum wheels. Was wondering if they look better. Does anyone know where I can get a picture of them?

Someone posted a link in another topic (I can't find it) to a picture of the 17 in. 10-spoke wheels. The picture was in another Ford forum, but, I can't remember which one. There is a picture of the 17 in. wheel in the Supercrew brochure and these same wheels are available on the Expedition. Go to you local Ford dealer for a brochure or a look at an Expy.

As one who ordered the wheels sight unseen, I was a little nervous given the negative reaction some seemed to have. Having seen them in person now, I am pleased. They look good to me.

 

I may be mistaken but I believe the 17" wheels in question were available as an option on the XLT only.

There you will find the best picture seen to date. Like LRM, I ordered these rims without haven seen them. I was initially displeased when I first saw them, however, after seeing them in person am quite happy.

Thanks for the replies. Since the Lariat can't have the 10-spokes, I guess the point is mute. If they're the same as used on the Expy, then I have seen them. I was hoping maybe they'd have a new wheel as seen on the Supercrew back in Jan. 99 (the 6-spoke chrome), but I guess not. Thanks again!

Has anybody tried to order the 17" 10-spoke rims with the SuperCrew Lariat? I was hoping that on a factory order I could get those rims instead? I asked the one of the local fleet dealers, but she claims it kicks her out of the order system everytime she tries to add them on the Lariat.

My wife wants the Lariat instead of the XLT because it has leather seats, but I don't like the look of the Lariat's 5-spoke chrome rims very well. I'd be happy with the cloth seats on XLT with either the 5-spoke or 10-spoke aluminum rims. Hmmm...I wonder who is going to win this battle?!?

I'd much rather have the 17" 10-spoke rims. Anybody with an XLT want to trade? I wonder if it's possible to buy the 10-spoke rims seperately (they're probably as expensive as buying custom rims!)?

Ideas?

 

I have the 17" 10 spoke rims and they lood great on my deep wedgewood blue SC. You have to see them on the SC to appreciate them. Pictures don't do it justice.

 

I have spoken to Ford about their limited option combinations. To me it is crazy to limit an order because you want leather seats. I do not like the 17" Chrome 5 spoke wheels. I have ordered 17" Blaster Billet wheels from B.Coddington Wheels. UPS Tracking shows them in transit to Atlanta. I am scheduled to have them mounted Wednesday. If their is anyone that is interested in the 17" chrome wheels then drop me a line.

I thought I would bring the 10 spoke here to make it easier. I have the 5 spoke chrome on my Lariat. When I first saw them at a dealer I didn't care for them, but they were not shined up. When they are shined up they are a good looking wheel. I also thought my Lariat would come with the 6 spoke chrome that was in the first pictures of the SuperCrew.
