You mirrored my thoughts exactly. From reading the various posts over the last 12 weeks while waiting for my truck (next week if the barge gets in!) I was thinking that I had made a terrible decision in opting for the 4.6L . You made my day as I have been fussing about the engine size ever since the various posts have come out. As you say it could be chipped and breathed if it really is a problem. Besides I'm getting too old and feeble for a fire breathing monster!!
(Gas here is currently 1.88 for regular)

Question 4.6L (No slouch)

Hi Everyone....just bought my new SuperCrew last night (XLT 4x4 Deep Wedgewood/Silver). I have noticed that there is a lot of talk on the 4.6 vs 5.4 motors and can not figure it out. I purchased my truck for the looks and towing around snowmobiles maybe the odd tent trailer or six friends. The truck that I bought has the 4.6L(Auto)in it and it is a motor that does everything I need it to do AND MORE! Unless your pulling a monster trailer or monster boat...does a person really need the 5.4....especially when everything else on the truck is exactly what I wanted and the price is better than I first thought I could get it for.
Hey...if down the road I see my self needing a bit more hp/torque, I will add exhaust, chip, aircleaner. So for those who have the 4.6L or that are looking at them, you just have to decide what you are going to use the truck for....believe me the 4.6L is no slouch!

My new SuperCrew is the most beautiful truck I have ever owned and the 4.6L does everything "I" need it to do for less money and less fuel...

PS: Deepwedge Wood with silver 2 tone rules!

Those are just my comments!!
