Slight Hesitation When Accelerating

Hi,

My 2001 SC has 43,000 miles. I notice that when I press on the accelerator now, there’s a slight delay in response that I can feel from my foot to the rear axle. Could someone give me an idea on where to first diagnose the problem before I either repair it or take it in?

Thanks,
Jon

Fuel Filter.

I just replaced mine 2 days ago, and I have a brand new truck. I wasn't able to spin the 33's I have over. Now, I have to be easy on dry pavement.

If you have had that done recently, you may want to check driveline play. Including, but not limited to, drive shaft and u-joints. There are other peices to that, but I don't want to mis lead you.

Terrific! I didn't think of that one! I bet you're right. I used to change those all the time in my Chevy's.

Thanks, I'll do it today...

Well, rain in the area has postponed it a bit. Also, I'm having a little trouble finding it .

Look on the inside of the frame right under the drivers side door. It requires a special tool that will cost you about $10 at a parts store.

Here is a link to a thread in our "How to" section. I believe your 2001 would be pretty much the same.

Bluejay.. thanks for the links. I took it to PB. It turned out to be low transmission fluid. They gave me the option of power flushing the trans but I decided to wait 'till my tax check came in and do a "works" package (including f.filter).

Thanks again,
Jon
