Gas tank size?

I know, I know, drive it until it runs out and then fill it up... Besides that, can someone tell me what size tank I have in my Screw with the 6.5' Flareside? Seems I was only able to get 18 gallons in with a quarter tank of gas, which seemed low. Could be my gas gauge isn't too accurate as well. Only the first fill up, but I believe my 05 Supercab had at least a 27 gallon.

Sorry, it was a FoMoCo repo that I purchased from a non-ford dealer, so I have no manual, (bought one on ebay, but it hasn't arrived), and of course no window sticker. Best I can tell it has to be at least 27, could be 30, or even 35.7 Just wondering if the 6.5' Flareside bed provided a clue?

My guess would be the 27 gallon. At a quater tank I fill up around 18 gallons.

Try a site search for owners manual, and this shows up

My 08 Screw FX4 has a 30 gal. tank and when I fill it up at a 1/4 tank it is about 20 gal., so these gauges seem to be a little inaccurate.

Thanks to all, I'm guessing the 27 as well, and I'll know better tomorrow as I plan to drive until the low fuel light pops on, then fill immediately. As I recall from my 05 that gives me 3 gallons left. If I can stuff 24.5 back in, I've answered my question, if I can get 27+ then 30 it is and boy am I getting crummy mileage

The tanks are either 26 gal or 36gal. The 36 gal is optional on: SCrew 5.5' and 6.5' beds, Regular cab 8' bed, Scab 6.5' and 8' beds. Basically it isn't available on: Regular cab 6.5' bed and SCab 5.5' bed.

Just drove 40 miles after the "Low Fuel" message came on, and put 26.2 gallons in. I believe the 6.5' bed came standard with the 27 gallon, and for whatever reason the 5.5' has a 30 gallon. This confirms my suspision that it is a 27 gallon like my 05 Supercab. I usually felt comfortable stretching to 50 miles after the low fuel message. Thanks for the reply's, I got 16.81 mpg on the first tank with very cold weather, and E15 gas and no tonneau cover. Hoping to improve upon that with cover, 35psi, and "summer gas".

My screw which is an 08, has a 5.5 bed and it also has a 30gal tank but YMMV as they say.
