tire size question?
tire size question?
Okay.. I have a 2006 F-150 screw flareside 2x4. I bought a 2" leveling kit and want to go up slightly in tire size. My local tire guy told me that a 265/70/17 is as large as I can go with a 2" leveling kit. I think I can do bigger, but I don't want anything that looks weird with the truck. My truck just looks like it sits lower than most trucks out there. Maybe it's just the street tires that are on it now.. I don't know.. anyways, I have pictures of my truck w/o the leveling kit in my profile.. let me know what you guys think.
a 285/75/16 would look great on a stock truck. or if you have 17" wheels it would be a 285/70/17
On a stock 97-03 4x4 you can fit up to a 315/70-17 (35x12.50) if you use the oem wheels. However, it's and extremely tight fit and they will rub the frame at full steering lock. I'd go with something a little smaller unless you plan on a lift kit in the near future.
