Traction Control?

How can I tell if my truck has it? Bought it from non ford dealer and it had no manual or window sticker. I assume there is an on/off button or switch like for the reverse warning sensor, but I don't find one. I do see an un-illuminated symbol on the gauge display between the gas gauge and the tach that shows the Traction Control Symbol. Thoughts?

Manual?

You could always check your manual. Normally there would be a way to switch it off, from personal experience anyway. You could always try and and get it to lose traction. You are in Ohio, find a snowy parking lot and punch it a bit. If you just sit and spin, then there's no traction control, but if you traction light comes on and you notice decreased engine power, then you have traction control.

EDIT: Sorry, read over the part about no manual. Try ebay to find one, they're very handy to have.

You truck does not have traction control. It's not available on an F-150. I don't think you can do traction control when there is no differential between the front and rear axle.

Sorry I beg to differ, but Traction Control is listed as an option on the 4x2 V8's in my 2008 Ford F-150 Literature, as well as the www.fordvehicle.com site. I believe I would have a button to disable it was there, but I was curious to see if there was another way to tell. Looks like I may just have to hit an icy parking lot and see if I can get the symbol to light up as suggested in the earlier post.

You can download a .pdf version of your owners manual From Ford Fleet.

If you have traction control, there would be a switch to disable.

I stand corrected. I've never seen that option on any truck, and never noticed it in the literature.
