Couldn't tell you for sure. It's on and looks good. My body shop didn't mention problems w/ the piece or the installation.

 

Is the tailgate rusting out a common problem with the F150 of 2005?

 

Don't believe it is.......I bought this truck used in this condition. What seems to be the case here is that this truck carried something praticularly corrosive, maybe had a load of salt sit there for a month or so? Can't say waht happened but the rust is uncharacteristic for sure.

The truck had a rhino liner on it, but that got eaten into too!!
