Yeah, I got the smoked one. It looked the best. It was from the Putco website, you can also get it at autotrucktoys.com. Looks great and eazy plug and play.

I had the same problem and as I was trying to take all the door sills off to dry the water, either all the plastic tabs broke off the door sill (stick in the fastner), the fastners broke, or the plastic tabs ripped out of the fastner (bending the teeth in the fastner). Does anyone know where to find replacement door sills? fastners with rubber gromments?

Hey Guys - Is the 3rd brake light leak an 04 & up thing or does it affect the older trucks as well? My 03 Screw is making some sloshing sounds & I discovered moisture along the passenger side carpet near the sills, I'm trying to determine if someone (son most likely) left the window down & water got in during a rain or if theres actually a leak somewhere. I can see where the later model trucks could easily leak by that 3rd brake light as it sits more vertical toward the roofline but on the 03 its horizontal. Any input is appreciated.

old tread but it would be nice to know how to take the sill off without breaking it or what and where to get something if it does

when you pop it off, pull straight up from both sides, I usually start from the front edge, and work my way back popping the clips one at a time, and then if the metal clip stays on the truck body, pull it off with needle nose pliers, reattach it to the tab on the plastic step plate, and then reinstall it.

as far as the slicone goes on the 3rd brake light DON'T USE IT! It will eat the paint and remove the paint when you remove the assy to replace the bulb.
