Gas milage competition

The rules are simple, the person with the truck getting the best gas milage out of a 5.4 4x4 screw wins. Please be sure to post your mods.

My 2001 4x4 screw got 10 mpg city 14 hwy with true duals from the cats no muffelers with 2.25" pipe

my 2008 4x4 screw is getting about 14-15 city / hwy stock

It won't be me I've never gotten more than 14.4mpg for a full tank in mine. As low as 9.5 once in the winter with almost the whole tank in 4WD and another time towing. Usually, 11-13mpg. Mods: AF1 & heavy 33" tires.

im about 15.5 i think on average. im on the highway a lot, but most of the time its stop and go traffic. i was averaging a little less than 12 before i got the edge and k&n drop-in. i have a flowmaster super 44 si/do, but im pretty sure thats hurting my mpgs.

Ethanol hurts MPG.

If you are in an area that still offers 100% gasoline (I am not), your MPG results will likely be 5%-10% better than it will be if you are burning gaso-ethanol blend, all other things being equal.

I track my MPG very closely. Was getting 17.5 before ethanol came to town; now get only 16.6 at best.

Our government run amok.

Not to make this comlicated but another requirement should be an average based on a full tank.

gotta call BS on that one. 30 gallon tank @ 24 mpgs would mean that you're getting 720 miles/tank.

I get a little over 18mpg with my truck, 5.4, 4x4 screw 3.73, Edge set on lvl 2, flow 40, K&N drop in and bed cover. This is running on 35's on flat Louisiana highways with 55 and 65mph limits. I commute close to 100 miles a day so I check it close. Run 87 Shell real gas, no ethanol.

No chance of winning this contest for me either. I only get 12-13 in the city and have seen an average of 15.5 if I am on the highway the entire tank (30 gal.)....

Last weekend cruising back from GA in the rain I was able to pull 18.44mpg out of mine. Only got 17mpg on the way up. I guess a couple mph really does make a difference. Oh yah....it's a bone stock FX4 SCREW. We'll see what I can do when I take it to TN in a couple weeks.

Maybe I misunderstood meaning of the thread. On a 30 mile highway trip, I rest my mpg. From start to finish, the trip was 24.6 mpg all highway. With a full tank and a mixture highway/city I get around 17 mpg depending on foot weight. smcconaghie I would be really happy with the 720 mile/tank with my Florida trip coming up.
