Will a 2004 5.4L crew cab pull a 26' travel trailer?

I have a 2004 5.4L crew cab with a towing package. I am looking to buy a 26' travel trailer that is #5315 loaded weight. I am wondering how well my truck will pull this---. I believe my rear axel radius is 3.77.
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated!

Should be fine if its only 5313 loaded. Are there trailer brakes?

yes, your truck will pull this load w/o too much difficulty. these trucks typically don't pull too well/safely past 7000#, however, you should be ok. I recommend that you do a full check on your towing setup, including receiver, hitch, brakes, transmission cooler, etc. If you will be towing that much regularly, you may want to look into upgrading the stock tranny cooler for transmission longevity.

no problem to pull it the trick is to stop it. do what pawpaw says and get a good controller just make sure it is hooked up properly. i like maxbrake controller, the cost is high around 350 but it works great.

I pull this 23' trailer with my 02 F-150. 5.4, It does very well except up the grades, do about 40 mph when pulling a hill, but i am installing 4.10 rear gears Tuesday and hope to change that. Good trailer brakes are a must, oh yeah, my trailer weighs from 10,000 to 11,000 depending on load.

Bushie, if it isn't too late, I'd go for 4.56 gears. With 33" tires and towing that much weight, you need all the gear you can get.

I just bought an '04 with the 5.4, towing package, and 3.55 gears. I made a 325 mile trip to pick up a 19' camper weighing about 3,400 lbs. No problems pulling at all, and with the electric brakes, it stopped as good as it does without a trailer. I got 20 mpg going after it and 9 mpg bringing it back.

Mine is #5995 unloaded and it pulls fine. I mean you aren't going to break any speed records with it but it will do the job. Oh yeah I have 33's also.

I pull a 27' travel trailer with my 2001 SC 5.4L 3.55 gears. I have weight dist. hitch and a Prodigy brake controller and my truck pulls just fine. Make sure to pop it out of OD while towing. Like mentioned above, you won't win any races... take your time.
