Question Strange Clunking Noise..

I am fairly new to the site and thought i would get your opinions on what may be making clunking noise on my 04 F-150 Screw 4x4. It sound like a clunk or rattle over bumps and rough roads, i thought it was coming from near the tailgate but when I stand next to either back tire and push and pull on the bed it seems maybe it is coming from where the bed and cab meet but sound sometime tends to travel funny. At one time i thought maybe it wast the receiver in the hitch so i took it out and no help. I also grabbed the shocks on the back and they seem okay. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Check your spare tire, it could be loose under the bed.
