2004 F150

Hey everyone! New to the forums I just purchased an 2004 F150 Crew Cab with the 5.4 and 2wd with 62,000 miles! I was wondering what I can expect from this truck as far as overall reliability goes? I love my truck but I feel like the Tranny is sucking power away from it can a programmer help with the slow downshifts when I put the pedal to the floor? I will post a pic this evening. Thanks!

If you plan on keeping it, I'd change out the plugs very carefully, if you wait till 100K to do them they will be much harder to change!..........

Thanks a lot of people put our trucks down by saying that they are weak but I raced a 06 Chevy Crew cab 4x4 last night and he got the jump on me and got about twenty foot ahead of me but I would have caught him but as I started to gain ground on him he back off the gas.

Welcome to the site, the more Cajun's the better! Oh, and let me remind you these truck's were not made for racing.

LoL Paw Paw! Yea I know if I wanted something to drag race with I should have just gotten a mustang. It's just that in my town most people have Chevy's and they try to pick on my Ford so I gotta stand my ground and put those chebby's in the dust!

Talking

I live in a mixed neighborhood, 1/2 Ford and 1/2 Chebby. Hardly any Dodge's or Yota's.

Yes a programm\er will help. Welcome. The ford may not be the fastest but it is a great truck. We can tow well and manage a load. I hve towed 10K lbs jus fine. Towed 8K lbs cross country and had 3.5K lbs in the bed. These are great trucks annd are reliable as well.
