Chirp like squeak in left front

I have a high pitched 'chirp' squeak in the driver's front of my 4x4 supercrew when hitting bumps. It does not do it on a gradual dip nor will it do it when I bounce the front bumper. It only happend when I hit speed bumps, potholes or heavy seams in the road. The really strange part is that it goes away when it rains. Truck dries out and the chirp comes back. I have been banging away with a rubber hammer and spraying everything with WD-40 trying to find the squeak. Any ideas anyone?

Sounds like a ball joint going bad. Jack the truck up and grab the tire at the top and bottom then give it a shake. If you have excessive play its the ball joint. This method will not duplicate the chirp sound.

Ball Joint

That side has new upper and lower about 6 months ago. Sometimes, depending on how I park, bounching the truck bumper will make a soft version of the squeak. I am really ready to go postal on my truck.

Could be the kind of material that the upper control arm bushing is made of. Try using a grease gun with a needle fitting and try to grease the bushings.

I am not sure I know what a 'needle fitting' is. From the usage I would assume a end cap for a grease gun like a doctor's needle to stick between the rubber bushing and metal of the control arm?

I found that stupid squeak

Pulled shock off to check condition and did not have time to put back on. Squeak was in shock. I got a new set as it needed to be done anyway. What a joy it was to drive with no chirp-chirp on every bump. BTW the shocks looked good, they just were bad. Hope this helps someone else.
