My New SCrew

Hello, everyone. After lurking here for the past few months, posting occasionally, and soaking up tons and tons of useful information, I have finally joined the club! I traded in my '03 SportTrac and picked up a CPO '05 SCrew FX4 Saturday morning, and I freakin' love it!

(sorry about the lighting in the pic -- afternoon Jersey sun).

It's really clean inside and out, it's a super-smooth ride, and my 7-year-old son loves how much room he now has in the back. What could be better? The first thing I did was hook up my Sirius Sportster antenna so I could listen to Rutgers kick Ball State's .... but I still have the wires just laying on the console. I'm thinking of replacing the aux tray on the top with an '07 for the line-level input and installing up there. I'm going to check out some of the other installs here.

I really want to thank Bob and the folks up at Village Ford of Pine Bush, NY, for putting up with me the past few months while I was looking for the right truck. I also want to thank all of you folks here on the board, because you provided me with a ton of information before I bought.

Cheers!

Nice ride! I'm a sucker for the FX4's (probably why I've owned so many of them).

The wife's Sport Trac is a bit too cramped for my taste. There's nothing like stretching out in the driver's seat of an F-150. Lots of room.

I'm really excited and I cannot wait to get going on this one. One thing I know I'm going to do is replace the speakers. I had the Premium Audio in the SportTrac, with the sub, and the sound was tons better than the Premium in the F150. It just lacks any sort of punch.

I've got the "premium"/audiophile system in my '05 and I was blown away at how good it is for factory equipment. I have added an AVIC-N3 but have not touched the door speakers or sub because with some fine tuning it sounds great and hits just hard enough to shake the seats w/o vibrating the truck to death!

I had two 10's in my '99 F150 that were running 1,000 watts each and while the factory system is no comparison in loudness to them, there's no way I'm spending ~$400 or up to have an aftermarket system. I constantly have people in my truck that don't believe it's factory until they see the box/harness under the back seat.

Congrats on the new truck too, btw! Great color!

A lot of folks really seem to like the gray. My wife thinks it's boring, but there you are.

I really like the factory look and I'd love to upgrade to the Audiophile setup, but I'm concerned once I add the sub, speakers and new HU it could turn into a more expensive project than an aftermarket HU with decent speakers (no sub).
