Yes - a little, but it is not opaque.

Your only other alternative is to disassemble the housing, and tint the sensor only.

Or install DRL.

yes, I intended to take the cover off of the dash and tint the sesor, but I don't know how that cover over the defrost vent comes off and didn't want to just pull and brake it.

Is it very hard or expensive to install DRL on these trucks? Some ford vehicles already have the module installed from the factory. It just has to be hooked up. Are these like that?

Hi - I think it's a matter of plug&play, but not 100% sure. I do know there has been discussion on this already - perhaps do a Search? Good luck.

The DRL module is not really plug and play, you do have to do some splicing into the factory wiring. The module itself is available from the Ford accessories website and you can also order it from your dealer. I have not installed mine yet so I cannot attest to how well they work but the lights are suppose to be on at 75% during dayight hours, to avoid premature burnout. It is not too expensive for the module either, I think I paid about $55 but I got it through a friend who works at a Ford dealership at his cost.

I wonder if it would hurt anything if the lights were to stay on at full power everytime the vehicle was on, other than bulbs not lasting as long as they would've. It would be less trouble and just as safe to just cover the sensor and let it keep them on all the time, than to buy a new module and splice into a harness somewhere.
