Keyless entry

Just got an 07 supercrew and am having trouble getting the keyless enty pad on the door to work. Have followed the instructions in the manual but cannot get anything to happen. Is there any secret?

Thanks

Nothing too secretive about it ... you do have the code from the factory, correct?

It took me 5-10 minutes with my manual but getting my own code programmed and stored was a fairly straightforward and simple process on my 2005 - it's a feature I could not live without!

Not having the code from the dealer would explain my situation. Will call them tomorrow morning.

Thanks

The factory code is on a card in the owner's manual.

You can also have the dealer look this up for you - I needed to have my looked up once, and was told I would need to bring an '05 in. I think on the '06 and newer trucks they don't even have to plug anything in to the truck and it is on record somewhere.

Some key pads require you to go slow. When I'm in a hurry I tend to go too fast for it and it won't work until I slow down. Having the factory code does help though.

The dealer may charge you to retrieve the code, beware. My dealer wanted $30 to do it. I bought the truck used and the previous owners didn't write down the factory code.

Code is also up under the dash on the driver's side, above the hand brake.

At least it is on the '03 models.

Does the Keypad work just by inputting the code or did you have to do or buy anything extra to get it to work? What model is your truck?

The code on the card in the glove box worked just as if I had programmed it in. I am able to simply use the code on the card to unlock the doors. My truck is an 07 supercrew xlt.

Removed the back seat on my '05 Scab, found the computer module (and sticker), and now need to figure out the sticker.

I tried the "00779" code and it didn't work.
Any advise would be appreciated.

Does the key pad work, press the last 2 bottons together and see if the doors lock. If they dont it may need to be programed.

They don't work - is (re)programming complicated? (I'm assuming the dealer will have to do it).
