Alarm...Blue light...Red Light

Recently bought a 2007 SC Lariat. Paid extra for the alarm system which was never really explained to me. I have a red light on the dash that blinks when truck is off and I have a blue light sort of under the dash just right of the steering wheel that stays on when I drive. What the hell is the blue light for? There is no mention of it in the manual.

Red light is the PATS program key indicator when you are cranking your truck and doubles as a dummy alarm LED when the truck is off.

The blue LED, is this drilled into the dash? If so then it most likely is a add-on alarm system. Since it stays lit even when you have the key on that means that it is in valet mode. This system could be two things. Either an alarm that is tied into the factory keyless entry system or an alarm that is missing the remotes. I'm only guessing at this. The bottom of the dash is open so you can look under it and see what is zip tied under thier. Typically you will find the brain by the steering wheel or up behind the headlight switch.

Called the dealer and found out that the blue light is the after market alarm. They tell me that each dealer uses different alarms so I need to go back by there and pick up the brochure that wasn't included in the original paperwork. The guy did mention that it's likely in valet mode whatever that is..............

Valet mode is where the system is disabled.
