I was looking for a used one because it's not something I use all that much. Of course, there were people practically paying you to take their extender from a '97-'03 truck, but NOBODY looking to sell an '05+ unit. Figures. So, I had to spring about $200 for a new Westin.

If you happen to know someone well that works a stealership, they could get you one. Both new trucks ive bought, they were able to find one laying around in the back and i gave them $100 for it. Its worth a try.

We don't have 1 truck on the lot with the extender. Our sales dept. never orders it as an option. I am kinda wanting one for my '01, but won't pay over maybe $100. Cause I just think it would be cool to have. I know it would be in the garage most of the time, but might use it somtimes

I use my bed extender constantly. In the summer, for my Avon Boat; in the Fall for hunting; and in Winter for ice fishing sleds, etc. With it, the five and one-half foot bed is fine.
