Sold the Truck

Well,

I ended up selling my truck late last night for an Accord. I know what you guys are thinking, but that 13.8MPG with my very long work commute was just killing me. I had originally planned on taking the park and ride when I bought the truck so I wasn't concerned about the gas mileage, but to make a long story short that didn't work out for me. I'm sure in several years I will be back with another Ford truck, so this isn't goodbye forever. I really appreciate all the helpfull advice from all of you guys over the years and I wish you all the best.

-Brian

Too bad you couldn't find a small beater for the commute and held on to your truck. I've sold trucks before and it just tore me up not having one. It's amazing how many times you need a truck and don't realize it until you don't have one. Besides you can still contribute to the forum without being a truck owner. Maybe when your ready to buy another truck you can get a diesel and run the $1.50 a gallon superfuel that will be developed within the next 5 years. Thats what I'm hoping for.

That sucks cause your gonna miss that truck. My job is only 4 miles away and thats why I got a Screw 4X4 with a 5.4 I can go 2 weeks on a tank and run a little on the weekends.

Sorry to hear you sold the truck! I probably would have bought some used 4-banger for $2K-$4K instead of selling my truck.

I'm lucky. I only put 16 miles a day on the truck to and from work. A tank of gas will last me 3-4 weeks with weekend trips into town. There's just no way I could survive up here without a 4X4 truck.

You are lucky. Where I live, most of these guys are putting 70+ miles a day for their commutes. I only do 14. I'd say, live closer to work. Where in WY are you? We were there last winter and couldn't believe the cold. Our crappy rental Highlander wouldn't even warm up for almost 15 minutes.

There's a big town in WY? There's only 5500 people here in Worland. It tops 10,000 when the migrant workers arrive in the summer.

We even have a traffic web cam...
