Exclamation Curb weight, tire load?

Does anyone know the curb weight of a 2004 screw lariat. It is 2wd, automatic with the 5.4l engine. This truck also has the short 5.5 foot bed.

I believe the new tires that were put on my truck are a little under rated. The tires that are on are Bfgoodrich Radial Long Trail T/A size P265/60R18 109T M+S. On the tire itself its says the max payload is 2271lbs and they are 2 ply construction. At 35 psi which is what the tire says, no matter how the truck is parked on flat surface or on an incline it always looks like all the tires are low.

Has anyone notice this?
Should I have choose a tire with a 3 ply construction?
Or am I being too critical?
My wife drives this truck so I want to make sure it is safe.

Thanks Kevin

Most Super Crews weigh about 5500-6000 pounds empty. An 18 inch tire is going to have a bit of bulge on a SCrew no matter the air pressure. For best ride, fill them to the air pressure on the door jam, not the max pressure on the tire.

A lot of guys have had good results with the Long Trail tire, and BF Goodrich also recommends them for 4X2 Super Crews. They're a long life highway/street tire. Would I buy them? No. Their tread pattern does not instill confidence in me for wet road traction. They're quite similar to the Goodyear Wrangler AP's which suck on wet pavement & snow. You're perfectly safe with these tires, but I would have opted for something else like the Yokohama Geolanders.

He's right. The door jamb has all the info. you need. The fronts will always look low since that's where the most weight is.....

Had BFG Longtrails on my last two KR's. Wear very good, quiet running and didn't have any problems in the rain. It rains here in Orlando, FL darn near everyday in the summer.

Agree with you on the Goodyear Wranglers though. They are TERRIBLE on wet road and rain. Had them on a truck before.
