It's the first tank. Give the engine 10k miles to break in and improve. People get between 12 and 20mpg on stock F-150's.

I'm getting 19 mixed city and highway on my 2005 5.4 SCREW 2WD with 6,000 miles on it. I keep it at or under 2,000 RMP mostly and drive it like an old man , but it gets better mpg and it makes me feel like I am taking care of my truck for the long haul

x2.. 17 is pretty good for mixed driving but you won't know for sure what it'll do until you get about 10k miles on it. I try not to think about my city mpg (okay, it's about 12.5).. lol.. but I get about 18.3 or so highway. I'm just hitting 14k miles on my '05 4.6L Screw.

Oh, and putting on a Borla cat-back improved my highway mpg by roughly 1.8.. The AF1 CAI hasn't seemed to change my mpg.

I just got back from a 3,600 mile road trip and averaged 15.2 mpg overall during the trip. On the interstate I averaged almost 17 mpg and in mixed driving I was seeing 14 - 15 mpg. Not too bad considering I have a 6" lift and 35's. I was pretty happy to see the results when I got back and computed my mpg's.
