I don't think he got screwed, so much as he screwed himself (no offense intended).

It's never a good idea to finance a loss for something that you no longer own.

Told the dealer I wouldn't pay a dollar over $450/month. So I'm paying $450.99 a month.

I took out negative-amortization interest-only 2nd mortgage for 30 years. So I'm only paying $50 a month for my truck, for the rest of my life and that of my kid's lives. But since I can't afford the insurance and gas, I'm having to use the kids college fund, which BTW was actually an advance on a 24.99% credit card... So anyway, when everything is said and done, I think the truck will have cost me about $113,828. Plus my kids will grow up to be homeless since they won't have an education. But hey, I got the truck I wanted!



J/K...

Seriously though, it looks like the payment range is $450-$550 a month. That sounds about right for the average buyer who has only minimal down payment.
