Have a good Memorial day. I'll be at home and not on the road. You have to give us rednecks a little credit.. we do know how to drive.
You offered the redneck wisdom. I just commented on it. It's entertaining.

Me neither in my own 17 years of driving. No matter how good any driver is, we share the road with many people who suck. There are many innocent victims in accidents from people who are poor drivers, drive too fast, don't pay attention, etc. It only takes one to affect your life.

BTW, dying vs. no harm from an accident/rollover is not as important to most people than reducing non-lethal injuries in an accident. That's why I wear my seatbelt because the statistical averages show I'm A) more likely to live and B) have fewer/less severe injuries if I am involved in an accident.

Also from the owners manual: "We can't pick our crash."

You can temporarily disable the belt reminder by holding in the seatbelt button for like 5 to 10 seconds after you first start the vehicle. As long as you leave the engine running it will stay off. Once you do turn off the engine it will reset itself. Thats the way in my 2002 S-Crew, I dont know if they changed that ability in the later models.

I already quoted the owners manual on that:

One time disable for driver/passenger BeltMinder
If at any time the driver/front passenger quickly buckles then unbuckles
the BeltMinder feature for that seating position, the BeltMinder is
disabled for the current ignition cycle. The BeltMinder feature will
re-enable during the same ignition cycle if the occupant buckles and
remains buckled for approximately 30 seconds. Confirmation is not given
for the one time disable.

We 're all big boys and noone needs to lecture anybody. I ride motorcycles 75% of the time and last time I checked ,they don't have seat belts. If I am in a wreck, I'll do much better in this tank with no belt than on the bikes.
I do the exact same thing, that damn beeping is annoying, I am a big guy and freakin hate seatbelts! If it is legal to ride a motorcycle without a helmet then why the hell is it illegal to be driving without seatbelts. Anything can happen at anytime, and there is nothing you can do to avoid it. Seatbelts can save lives but have also been known to end a few, I'll take my chances.

Well, what happens is that the guys who make wise choices not to wear a seatbelt frequently are bright enough to not have insurance either. Then they end up on all kinds of medical or life support or whatever and the rest of us get to pay for them taking chances.

hmmm...yeah iv got insurance, I couldn afford to fix my truck or whoever's I hit if i didn. I was in a wreck and if i had had a seatbelt on id be dead, so like I said ill take my chances. There are pros and cons to absolutely everything in life, so screw it. And btw, how is it that were payin for people on life support. If you get in a wreck, no matter if its ur fault or not, them lovely and honest insurance companies are probably gonna add a few new charges 2 your bill.(ex. no more vehicle safety discount) They own this country, there is nothin anyone can do bout that one.

Who do you suppose covers the hospital costs when there's no insurance? Think illegals for one example. BTW - your trucks computer will likely be able to provide post-accident data that your seat belt wasn't being worn. Not only is your health gonna be f'd in an accident, but so will your insurance when they find out you don't use seatbelts. Personally, I couldn't care less what you do. It's just fun to see the reasoning for not using them. Honestly hope you never see a wreck. The lawyers own the country, and we as retarded jurors pretty much gave it to them over the years.

It does work though.
