New here, what do you think?

Hi there, I've been in the market for a new truck and have decided on a Supercrew. I originally went to my local dealer to look for an 07 FX4 but while I was there I spotted an 02 H-D supercharged. Now I have a dilema, what do I do.

I've thought about it but this is $20,000 less.

A friend of mine has the exact truck, same color & year, he likes it however he states that the gas mileage with a supercharger is incredibly poor.....however if your saving $20,000 thats allot of gas.......

It all depends on what you are looking for in a truck.

Is the power or 4x4 more important to you?

Do you want a street or off-road look to your truck?

Complete Factory Warranty on the 07 or Expired Warranty on the HD?

New so you know how it was taken care of or hope that the HD was not beat on too badly?

Both are great trucks but it is up to you. Only you can make the final decision and you have to live with the choice so don't base your decision solely on what anyone here tells you as you may regret it later.

If it were me, I'd go with the new 07. As stated here, unless you know/knew previous owner, you don't know how the truck was treated. But, we all have our opinions and the final decision is yours!

Good luck with your decision!

I agree with ameration's points. I had a similar dilemma. I searched this site a ton to help make a decision. I decided on the new 07. I always bought used and inherited someone else's problems. I always told myself when I had the money I'd by new. No regrets yet. It's definitely your call. Hey, either way it's still a Ford.

Buying a used SC vehicle may be asking for huge problems. You never know how hard it has been driven. If you are really interested in it, then get a Carfax report to see if its been wrecked. At least that way you know if it has been really badly abused.

Tough choice, but that's one nice looking HD..!

I guess it really boils down to what your needs are and howmuch you are willing to spend, not only for the truck, but for gas, maintenance as well.

I've always said I wouldn't buy a used performance vehicle because you don't know how it was treated and maintaned, that's why when I was in the market for a Mustang I went with new, but I purchased the H-D because the previous owner was **** about it, all needed maintenance and more was done, all the records were with the truck, and I ran a carfax before I even started any serious negotiations. I also found out that he worked with a relative of mine who assured me the truck was never abused. I've got another truck which is 4x4, it's just my beater, but it's in excellent mechanical condition, so that helped me with my final decision. So far the fuel mileage is on par with my previous truck, a 2003 4x4 Silverado which was modded.
